This is what I’m reading this week and what has inspired me:
1. Craftbuds: Photography tips for Bloggers the Basics.
I love taking photos. I’ve loved it since I was in highschool- I used to shoot with a regular fully manual Pentax K1000 back in the day. Now that I’m digital, I suck a taking photos of inanimate objects and cannot making them look interesting. I can take a pretty decent photo of a person, but things…not so much. So this article was really helpful and is inspiring me to go home and work on my white balance because my pictures need some serious help.
2. Ruffles and Stuff: The Lollipop Shirt
Holy cuteness batman! This is a cute tutorial that teaches reverse applique technique. I’m looking at making some applique shirts very soon and this tutorial was very helpful and inspiring! So cute!
3. Fireflies and Jellybeans: Little Girls Room Art Series
This is so creative! I never would have thought about distressing a mirror and I have mirrors in my closet from my wedding! FINALLY I have something to do with them. I even have some glass paint too! Double score! Very cool tutorial and I’m adding it to my pinterest.
4. Sew4Home: How to insert an invisible zipper
This is pretty self explanatory. I suck at inserting zippers. This helps me. Now I need to buy an invisible zipper foot because apparently I’ve been using the wrong kind. Learn something new every day.
5. WhipperBerry: Back to school teacher gift and PRINTING ON FABRIC
I swear to all three of you that three days ago I was dreaming of ways to use my printer to print directly onto fabric because I needed an easy way to add words to my designs and TADAAAAA! The Internets and Whipperberry to the rescue! I cannot wait to try this with my printer. And HOW cute is that teacher gift?? I’m pinning this for future reference.
So I hope you have found some inspiration, I know I have. Hopefully now I can actually wrangle the time to complete the eleventy billion projects I’ve added to “need to sew” list. Sigh. I need to take a
sewing mental health sick day from work soon.
Have a great day!
